    If credit repair services are offered to you, be vigilant about anything that is similar to a scam or any suggestions that seem illegal.

    Chances are they are.  If a company approaches you asking you to pay fees even before any service is provided or else tells you to invent another identity so that you can’t be identified with negative credit information, then raise your antennas a little higher and be careful.
